Dan has been operating tours in the backcountry for nearly 20 years. Dan is one of the co-founders and owners of Island Lake Lodge at Fernie, B.C., which became the world's foremost snowcat-skiing destination. He has the passion and determination to build MHG into Canada's premier heli-skiing/boarding destination. After selling his interests in Island Lake in the 90s, Dan re-purchased the company in spring 2005, and has merged Island Lake with MHG.
| Our Lodge
Mica Heli Guides' beautiful backcountry lodge lies on a broad, open slope rising into the Rocky Mountains, with a spectacular view of huge Kinbasket Lake. Accessible in winter only by helicopter, the lodge can comfortably sleep 12 guests. With eight bedrooms, groups of eight guests each have a private room with bath, while groups of 12 have a mix of double and single occupancy.

MHG's private lodge was built in summer 2002 of log construction with river stone fireplaces, heated tiled or carpeted floors, an outdoor hot tub, huge windows, large dining and relaxing areas and spectacular views from every suite. Our private chef prepares your daily meals, including a hearty breakfast, packed lunch and gourmet dinner.

As remote as the lodge may be, it's as comfortable as home, with self-generated power, Internet access (including a wireless network allowing you to use your own laptop), satellite TV and telephone access. After each full day of powder skiing or boarding (or hiking or fishing in summer), the MHG lodge becomes your personal haven to return, refresh, relax - and recount your great adventures.
