Overview
Mica Heli Guides doesn’t farm snow… they ride it! Just you, three companions, your guide and 72,000 hectares (close to 178,000 acres) of towering peaks deep in the Canadian wilderness. Mica Heli has giant alpine bowls, runs of up to 1500 vertical meters (5000 feet), endless steep tree-skiing and the world's best "pillow" runs. From beginner to expert, Mica Heliskiing has the perfect terrain for every level of skier or boarder.
The operating area at Mica Heliskiing lies on the western slopes of the Rocky Mountains in British Columbia, Canada. The terrain is considered one of the farthest inland rainforests in the world, receiving between 13 to 20 meters (42 to 66 feet) of snowfall annually. Mica Heliskiing tenure is strategically located where moist storms from the west collide with cold Arctic air from northern Alberta. The net result is consistent, deep, dry powder snow from November through to early May. Down days are historically rare at Mica Heliskiing due to the weather patterns, the high elevation of our backcountry lodge and incredible tree skiing only a five-minute flight away.
Accessible only by helicopter, Mica lodge and new deluxe chalet are perched at 1200 meters (4000 feet) and offer spectacular views overlooking the Monashee, Selkirk and Rocky Mountains. Mica lodge has seven bedrooms with full baths and sleeps up to 12 guests. The new chalet has four extra large deluxe rooms each with its own fireplace. Mica Heli backcountry lodges have all the luxuries: heated stone floors, river stone fireplace, hot tubs, massage, telephone, wireless internet, satellite TV and a chef preparing fabulous meals.
Semi Private Tours: Skiing as three individual groups of four guests plus their guide, Mica Heli guarantees 4500 meters (15,000 feet) vertical/day. For 2008, Mica Heli has introduced the option to add a fourth group for those guests that would like to ski with a few more of their friends. Guests choosing to bring a fourth group in 2008 will receive a lodge voucher they can put towards extra vertical, massage, bar bills or retail items. Depending on the length of the trip, that could mean 8500 meters (28,000 feet) of free vertical!
Private Group Package: For those who are looking for the ultimate ski experience, Mica Heli has put together an all-inclusive private group package that is the best value in the industry. The private tour includes a heli transfer from Revelstoke and the exclusive use of a second A-Star helicopter for one to four guests. Single occupancy accommodation is provided in the new chalet. This package is based on helicopter time – no limit to vertical. A second guide provided free of charge if requested with groups of one to three skiers.
Helicopter Assisted Ski Touring: The ultimate ski touring experience! A perfect combination of traditional ski touring and an A-Star Helicopter! Each morning Mica Heli ski touring guests are flown by helicopter to a new area to explore and at the end of the day can enjoy a flight back to the lodge for a massage, hot tub and gourmet meal!
